Restaurant in Hoofddorp

Hey whoever reads this blog of mine.
I came to the Netherlands last Sunday and will be here the entire week. I am here on a working trip so my days are completely packed with work but I usually have my evenings free.
Tonight we went to this place called Woodstone Pizza and Wine Hoofddorp and it was really nice which was a surprise to us all ( we are five from Iceland and four from Serbia).

We started our evening by going to a pub which is right next to the restaurant because it was really crowded when we got there..around 7 pm so we had a drink there while we waited to get a table.
The pub was fun and a nice way to get to know everybody better.
We then went to the restaurant about 8 pm. Most people ordered a pizza but I had the spinach and ricotta filled ravioli which I love at Italian places like these because they always use fresh pasta and who doesn't like cheese?! I'll take it in any form it comes in.

Einar, whom I work with made the mistake of ordering a non-alcoholic beer, much the amusement of all of us at the table.

The Tripadvisor link is here: Tripadvisor for restaurant
So if ever you find yourself in Hoofddorp; which you probably won't if you are not working for a company in this town; and need a place to eat, I reccommend this one :)  Good Italian food!

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed - Champagne Pop Review

Wow..that is a long name!
This is a highlighter that Youtube star Jaclyn Hill (https://www.youtube.com/user/Jaclynhill1), designed with Becca and it is a thing of beauty!

She has some tutorials on the Sephora channel (Sephora Champagne Pop) about how to use it but really, it's just like any other highlighter.

This highlighter is so gorgeous and it really brightens up your face and makes your skin glow ever so slightly.

Here is a photo of me with the highlight on my cheekbones, in different lights.

Please just ask if you have any questions! :)

Wednsday Chitchat

Today was a good day! *like if you got the reference*

I went to see Straight out of Compton last week and I've been obsessed with Ice Cube and the song Straight out of Compton ever since. I'm way too impressionable for this sh*t. See! I'm still doing it!
I need to remind myself I'm the whitest person alive and I ain't cool enough for this.

I love flavored coffee creamer but they don't even sell them here in Iceland, unless vanilla flavored ones and I'm not really that excited about that..so I decided to make my own. I read Sally's blog, sallysbakingaddiction.com where she posted a recipe of pumpkin coffee creamer. It is so good!! I made it yesterday and if you like flavored coffee drinks, please make it!

Today was crazy busy. I worked 12 hours straight and then came home..wow, that sounds boring but it really isn't. I like my job, I really do but it's exhausting to work these long days.
I came straight home, took a shower and have not stepped off the couch since. I'm gonna watch Criminal Minds for the rest of the evening. Have a nice one! :)

Oatmeal for the week

Hey everybody!
It's been way too long and I am really sorry! I am trying to get back into blogging but I always tend to fall out and in love with it but I'm gonna try to be better.

I have a breakfast idea for you today which I do very often.

I make a big batch of oatmeal on Sunday...or on Tuesday like I did today because the past two days have been kinda hectic for me.
I then divide it into containers after it's cooled a bit, add some cinnamon/berries/nuts or whatever I think of and put it in the fridge and voilá! You have healthy breakfast ready for the entire week to grab and go..and then eat it at your desk like I usually do since I never manage to wake up as early as I intend to.

- I usually use old-fashioned rolled oats, put 1 part oats vs 2 parts liquid (almond milk and/or water)
- Cook it until it's boiling

Why does oatmeal always look so bad?

- Turn off the heat and let the oats sit in the pot with the lid on for about an hour.
- Let the oats cool and then divide them into containers with some fruits.

Ready in containers for the fridge!

- If you want to eat yours with some peanut butter, put that on after microwaving the oats ;)

Hope this give somebody some ideas ;)

Moving back home

I have a small life update for y'all today.
This week, me and Jenni are moving back home to save up to buy our own place. This is done out of necessity as the rental prices in Reykjavik have skyrocketed in the past years and is not a viable option for us at the moment.
It will be different living back home, I give you that but hopefully it will only be for a few months :)

I am really looking forward to decorating and making the new place our own! I have been following interior blogs for years and I have so many ideas. First and foremost, I want a cozy home where we can have people over for dinner or brunch in the weekends and that is our home :)

Over and out

Brunch in Reykjavik - Vegamot

I love brunch. I look forward to waking up in the weekends so I can have brunch.
Today, the plan was to go to Snaps which is supposed to be really good and I really wanted to have their pancakes but I didn't realize that so did everyone else so they didn't have a table for us when we got there at 11:32 (the place opens at 11:30). Mental note, reserve a table next time!
So off we went..to Vegamot which we have eaten at many times before but we've never been there for brunch.
I have to say, we were very disappointed. We got what we usually get when you can order a selection of food, the biggest selection they have and then an extra plate of pancakes.
This was so not worth it. The extra plate of pancakes which was 1000 ISK consisted of two very thin pancakes which we immediately gobbled down.
The menu claimed that the selection had freshly baked bread; the bread we got was not freshly baked at all and consisted of two small baguette slices.
The eggs were cold, the bacon was way too crumbly, they probably bought some bacon sprinkles and put that on the plate.
The fruit that came with the plate was some pieces of melon and apples and two blueberries. For this plus two coffees we paid 5000 ISK. We were hungry again an hour later.

Overall, the place needs to pull it's shit together because I will not recommend this place to anyone after this experience. I sincerely hope someone at Vegamot will see this and do something about this because this was a joke.

The Originals

I started watching this show when it first started but due to school and work and not having time for anything else, I never really got into it and stopped.
Now that I'm just working and have time to do almost anything I want, I started watching this again. Today, I am home sick and have been watching this the entire day. Let's just say, I will probably be finished with the first series this week.

On a side note, I love Davina's lips :P
